What's life without music? I wouldn't even want to imagine it, especially because I love to dance. For me, Philip Glass is a wizard who casts dancing spells. I consider this American composer a gift to our generation, and through his dance pieces, I have had some of the most rewarding and memorable dancing experiences of my life. Needless to say, he is my all-time favorite when it comes to dance music.
Philip Glass, The Dance Music Legend
If you love dancing, I highly recommend Glass' “In the Upper Room”, which is a set of 9 dance tracks. It's a great collection even if you are trying to introduce yourself to his work. The orchestra dance pieces are just wonderful, just as many of his works, which is why he is also one of the most notable composers of the 20th century. I don't mean to oversell his work but, if these dance music tracks don't at least get you bopping, I don't know what will.
The Right Shoes
My love for Philip Glass dance music aside, another thing I take very seriously when it comes to dancing is shoes. I know shoes don't make the dancer, but I have found that having the right shoes really makes the experience many times better. The last thing you want is shoes that get in the way of your moves by being too heavy, too stiff, too uncomfortable, or too slippery. That said, my go-to place when I need shoes is Finish Line.
Finish Line has over 660 stores around the U.S. Its selection of shoe brands and styles is mind-blowing, and the quality of its products undeniable. With its broad variety of shoes, you can buy anything from sandals to dancing shoes.
Philip Glass and Finish Line
Glass' dance music has lots of texture and energy, which means your dancing will have plenty of vigor. To maintain the lively spirit of his music through your dancing maneuvers, you will need shoes that can take everything you have to give on the dance floor without holding you back. Finish Line is one of those places where you can find precisely the shoe you need to dance to Glass' compositions.
This is why I am so proud of my Nike Musique IV Women's Dancing Shoes, which I bought from FinishLine.com. At the risk of stating the obvious, you should know that Finish Line is my favorite store, and not just because they stock every shoe I could ever want, but also because they also offer amazing deals and great Finish Line codes.
For instance, Finish Line is currently offering coupons that create up to 85% discounts on popular shoe brands. The company is also offering irresistible end of season deals that can let you get up to 50% off on various shoes, including a pair of Women's Nike Musique IV Dance Shoes. This shoe is every dancer's dream – it is very light, very flexible, has plenty of traction, ergonomically supportive, and designed to offer low-profile stability.
Musique IV: A Dance Shoe that offers Incredible Support
If you will end up loving dancing to Glass' music, then odds are that you will love Finish Line as well. Sounds strange, right? But the connection is really simple – dancing is a whole lot better when you are in the right shoes. There are even dancers who swear that shoes is where it's at as far as dancing goes. Dancing has to come from the heart, but your feet have to follow. So, you suffer the risk of messing up your moves, or being unable to lose yourself completely to the music and dancing through your best and favorite moves if your poorly-designed shoes keep getting in the way.
