  • Notes

  • MODERN LOVE WALTZ.
  • By Philip Glass is an excellent example of that composer's minimal style. The left hand, which never changes throughout the piece, outlines an A chord and a B-flat7 in alternating measures. The right hand is an elaboration of this insistent left hand, alternating filigree patterns and block chords. The work is dedicated to Constance de Jong.

  • ALAN FEINBERG.
  • Born in New York City, received both Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Juilliard School. He studied with Robert Helps and Dorothy Taubman. Mr. Feinberg has recorded with CRI Records, the WFMT Commissions Project in Chicago, and Radio BRT, Brussels. He was prize-winner in the Kennedy Center-Rockefeller Foundation Competition for Excellence in the Performance of American Music, 1978. He has toured throughout the USA and Europe, presenting premieres of new music.
