Why Glass? In this article, Alex Christaki
talks about himself, explaining his interest in Philip Glass music.
A View Through Glass. This is an article
which looks at Glass's development though his life and influences.
Literature on Glass and many contemporary composers is hard to find. We may
have to wait until the death of a composer before anything is written on them
and even then a composer may become famous. Modern literature is only
useful to us at the time of its publishing; due to subjects developing so
rapidly articl es become out of date. However, this one was written in July
1995.
The Works. This article looks at my personal
view of the composers works. You may or may not agree with the issues but my
studies of Glass have brought me to be quite a harsh listener of Glass. I say
this because I have looked to closely at his styl e and techniques that I can
honestly say whether a piece is successful or not. Read on towards his Violin
Concerto which may make things more clear. I am very open minded towards
music, but there is always that standards which one will look for. I am open
to your comments.
An Interview with Philip Glass. This
interview was recorded at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London in 2nd July
1994. Glass was touring his new Opera "La Belle" at the time and through
much negotiation I managed to get his time to spend with me.

Alex's Music Diary. This is a log of many
