Notes

Six new recordings mark the beginning of an exclusive relationship between Philip Glass and Elektra Nonesuch. On this CD created specially for broadcast, the composer introduces his own works, offering a personal commentary on music from 1969 to today.

From September 1993 to January 1994, Elektra Nonesuch will release these current and classic works. Taken together they represent an overview of the composer's evolution from the early instrumental works to the most recent music-theater projects. Excerpts from these forthcoming recordings and Glass' commentary comprise 68-minute program.
