APHEX TWIN'S HEROIC FEAT!
Aphex Twin, David Bowie and classical composer Philip Glass have joined forces on a triple-headed project to remix Bowie's 'Heroes'.
Glass composed an orchestral version of Bowie's 1977 album 'Heroes' in 1996, which contained the track 'Heroes'. Aphex Twin, aka Richard James, then put the original 1977 Bowie vocals back onto the instrumental score.
"I only had the afternoon to do it," James told NME. "My girlfriend told me 'Heroes' was really famous, but I'd never heard it before. It's alright though, isn't it? A good tune."
One remix, described by insiders as, "very slow and very spooky," has already surfaced on a Japan-only release.
James has yet to complete a second remix, which will either be released by Warp Records or Glass' Point Music imprint.
