Notes

It is possible to find an alternative tendency in contemporary musical language or at any rate one which is different, from the Viennese school: "...there is a name and this name is Wagner but we also have an answer and this is Debussy..." declared Steve Reich.

Arturo Stalteri on piano, touches on a few episodes of this brief period in the history of music, starting with Debussy via Glass to arrive at the alternative sounds of artists like Way, Corea and Sakamoto. He closes the recording by performing his own music, including unedited compositions and new interpretations of pieces from his repertoire which are now considered classics (Mulini, Le ultime luci di Brea, Un notturno). A few of his favourite flowers.

The 1998 re-release includes a bonus track not available with the first print: a touching performance of "The Sheltering Sky" by Ryuichi Sakamoto"
